A team from Green Balkans, part of the “Life for the Saker Falcon” project, participated in the 30th anniversary edition of the exhibition “Nature. Hunting. Fishing” — one of the most significant events in Bulgaria dedicated to nature conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources.
The exhibition brought together state forestry enterprises, institutions, and organizations working in the fields of forestry, fisheries, game management, and environmental protection. It follows global trends aimed at bridging ecology and business, promoting the responsible use of natural resources and fostering a conscientious attitude toward wildlife and plant life, especially among young people.
During the exhibition, the team from “Green Balkans” also held a working meeting with forestry officials, hunters, falconers, and pigeon breeders, focused on the conservation of the saker falcon in Bulgaria. Serious threats to the species were discussed, such as poaching and poisoning, as well as the need for strengthened cooperation among all stakeholders.
