Students from Isperih learned about the birds of Ludogorie in a joint initiative by BSPB and the local History Museum
To mark Earth Day , the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB), in partnership with the History Museum in Isperih, organized an educational meeting with students dedicated to the rich bird diversity of the Ludogorie region and its conservation. The event took place at the Information Centre of the Sboryanovo Archaeological Reserve near the village of Sveshtari and brought together students from PGSS “Han Asparuh”, PG “Vasil Levski” and OU “Hristo Botev” in Isperih.

Guest lecturer Mihail Iliev from BSPB introduced the topic “Birds of Ludogorie”, emphasizing the importance of protecting valuable species and their habitats. The meeting attracted strong interest, and students actively participated in discussions and an interactive quiz, demonstrating knowledge and curiosity about nature.

As part of the joint activities under the project “Life for the Saker Falcon”, the BSPB team also updated the information boards about the saker falcon and the protected area “Lomovete” in the regions of Sveshtari and Ivanovo, contributing to raising public awareness.

The partnership between BSPB and the History Museum highlights the strong connection between cultural and natural heritage and the need to preserve them for future generations.
