The Saker Falcon festival will be held for another year in the village of Malko Kadievo! It is organized by Zeleni Balkani – Stara Zagora within the Life for Falcons project, funded by LIFE Programme.
On 29th of July from 18:30 in the village’s center environmentalists, dancers, singers and artists will meet, united by their love of nature.
We will be sharing information about the Saker Falcons and the activities of the environmental organizations in Bulgaria, about different initiatives and the work of Green Balkans, dedicated to the restoration of this species in Bulgaria. By tradition we will release birds from the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding center in Stara Zagora.
Why is the festival held in Malko Kadievo?
The field activities of the species restoration in Bulgaria have been held here for years. Green Balkans started them more than 10 years ago and this year alone 19 young Saker Falcons have been released which totals to 160 birds!
The Saker falcon Romeo will be in the highlights of the evening. In the past he was a parent for lots of the released birds, and now he is retired and enjoys a well-deserved rest.
So, welcome to the festival! It will be exciting, we promise!
