The conference aims to gather species experts to share their experience in the field of Saker Falcon conservation and research. The conference will include a general plenary, poster session and round tables. A side event on small mammal conservation will be held as well.
We welcome abstract submissions on:
- Saker Falcon status and research - population status and trends, research methods and innovations, GPS telemetry, migration, dispersal, habitat use, genetics, breeding biology and ecology
- Threats to falcons – poaching, nest robbing, poisoning, electrocution and collision, habitat loss, etc.
- Saker Falcon Conservation – approaches and methods, international cooperation, community activities, habitat management and restoration, captive breeding and reintroductions
- Conservation biology of Small mammals – threats, habitat management, genetics, captive breeding, translocations etc.
Dates: 12-15 October 2023
Conference location: Stara Zagora, Bulgaria
Conference format: In person. Upon agreement with the organizing committee prerecorded talks can be broadcast online. There will be key plenary talks (30 min), standard plenary talks (15 min), short talks (5 min) and poster sessions. Field trip will be offered on the last day of the conference.
