Employees and Volunteers from Green Balkans and Members of the Hunting Party in the Village of Kolarovo Released Birds from the Wildlife Rescue Centre
Eleven mallard ducks, hatched at the Wildlife Rescue Centre, were set free by the team and volunteers of Green Balkans, along with members of the hunting party in the village of Kolarovo.

The ducks are the offspring of birds that were confiscated during poaching operations. Their parents have been living in the Centre's yard for over ten years. Along with the mallards, a little bittern and a European pond turtle — found on the road — were also released into the reservoir near Kolarovo.

This joint initiative is a long-standing example of cooperation between conservationists and hunters and is part of Green Balkans' activities under the “Life for the Falcon” project. As part of the same project, hunters were given informational materials detailing the project’s main activities. These materials include detailed information about the Saker Falcon, Green Balkans’ efforts to reintroduce it to Bulgaria, and its benefits to the environment and humans.
