At the end of the last week Green Balkans project team partnering with the Community Center Mitio Stanev – 1929 organized and held the Sixth Saker falcon festival.
It was held traditionally in the village of Malko Kadievo near Stara Zagora, where it was visited by the villagers and guests.
This year we had international participants – our guests and partners from Nace ptice from Bosnia and Herzegovina and TEAM from Serbia.
During the festival there were environmental games for the children and puzzles with questions for knowing the life of the Saker falcon and other protected species. Short information about our activities in the region got every visitor familiar with the results of the work done within the project. Releasing healed birds in the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center made the festival more colorful. Birds from the center – the buzzard Hary and tawny owl Luli helped everyone to get closer to the wild nature.
A band and a fire show took care for the good mood of the visitors.
The bad weather failed to thwart our plans and despite the small delay due to the sudden summer rainfall, the fest continued until late at night.
We thank our volunteers, students of the Trakia university in Stara Zagora for the invaluable help!
