In April the UHAB team presented the pocket edition of the Hunter’s guide in front of nearly 80 hunters from HFU Asenovgrad.
The guide, printed deliberately as a pocketsize book there are 68 species from three main groups included: hunting and protected species and diurnal birds of prey.
The guide presents the huntable species and the means of their identification in nature and differentiation from the protected and non-huntable species. In the second part of the book are listed the protected and prohibited for hunting birds of prey, what differentiates them from the huntable birds and what are the penalties provided by the law for hunting those birds.
The guide includes information about the periods of breeding and migration. The excellent illustrations pointed out the most important features for differentiation of every species.
At the end of the main text there is information about the hunting calendar of the different game species and the shooting standards.
There are useful contacts in case of finding a wounded or dead individual of a protected species.
The members of HFU Asenovgrad showed strong interest to the Hunter’s guide and everybody received a copy of it.
The presentation of the guide will continue during the year, on the planned meetings with the hunters from UHAB. The informational campaign covers the places where the Saker falcon possibly nests or migrates in Bulgaria.
We thank the hunters from HFU Sokol Asenovgrad and the chairman of the union, dr. George Hadzhilambrev.
