A team from BSPB working on the Life for Falcons project took part in the annual meeting on the topic "Prevention of Wildlife Crimes." The meeting was organized by the Rewilding Rhodopes Foundation as part of the project "From Iron Curtain to Green Belt," funded by the European Land Stewardship Programme (ELSP).
Representatives from the General Directorate "National Police," specifically the sector for combating environmental and wildlife crimes, presented their work from the past year. The Regional Directorate of Forests – Kardzhali and the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water – Haskovo also participated, giving presentations on their completed projects and future plans for nature conservation in the Eastern Rhodopes.
The meeting provided an opportunity for discussion and planning of future joint activities between institutions and non-governmental organizations, including anti-poaching efforts, information exchange, and collaborative wildlife protection work. Participants also included representatives from local state forestry and hunting enterprises, the South Central State Enterprise, the Southeast State Enterprise, the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, non-governmental organizations, and others.
